Kadant Fiberline Receives Order for OCC Systems Destined for Shanxi Province in Northwestern China

Beijing, China, July 7, 2022 – Kadant Fiberline (China) Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Kadant Inc. (NYSE: KAI), received an order from Shanxi Power Generation Oriental Smart Energy Co., Ltd. for two OCC systems for its PM1 and PM2. The new PM1 will produce corrugated medium with a capacity of 800 tons per day and PM2 will produce linerboard with a capacity of 1,050 tons per day.

As part of the Kadant Foundations fiber processing product line, these OCC systems feature innovative technologies and equipment enabling the mill to operate with high stock quality and fiber yield while generating up to a 20% reduction in energy consumption.

“We are excited to be working alongside Shanxi Power Generation with its first major investment in the papermaking segment,” commented Peter Ma, vice president of sales and marketing for Kadant Fiberline. “With the completion of this project, Shanxi Power Generation Oriental Smart Energy Co. will become the first large producer of containerboard in northwestern China.”

The new machines are expected to start-up in 2023 and 2024.
