Alignment Conveyor
Conventional Infeeds for stranders systems allow little control over log alignment. Improving log alignment in the cutting chamber aligns the knife path during the cut with the face of the log, providing improved strand quality.
In addition to improved strand quality, the Kadant Carmanah Alignment Conveyor has been proven to significantly increase fill factor when processing logs in a "shingle-feed" application.
The system is designed with a series of rolls and lobes that rise and fall through a steel bed plate with corresponding slots. As these implements rotate, they advance and align the logs in the infeed chamber. The rolls and bed plate are supported by heavy steel framing to allow years of low maintenance and trouble-free operation.
