Research & Development
While most suppliers are preparing for the future, Kadant is creating it. Kadant’s research and development activities are the force behind the patented technologies and innovative products that we bring to process industries worldwide.
With major R&D facilities in Europe and the USA, Kadant is uniquely positioned to address process industry challenges and needs for improved fiber processing, heat transfer, doctoring, and fluid handling. In addition to internal product development activities, our research centers allow customers to simulate their own operating conditions and applications to identify and quantify opportunities for improvement. Test center locations are linked below.
Kadant Nordic’s test center is in Huskvarna, Sweden next to its manufacturing site. With two pilot machines, the test center is equipped to simulate real-life papermaking conditions to solve contamination challenges with the M-clean cleaning system.
Kadant Johnson’s global research and development center, located in Three Rivers, Michigan, features 18 test machines and 43 test positions and includes a tribology laboratory, two isolation rooms, and a learning center with theater-seating for 50.
Kadant Lamort’s technology center, located in Vitry, France is a global pilot center to run trials on fiber processing solutions and test ideas related to recycling, special paper grades, and complex composites. The technology center also performs evaluations of potential raw materials and line surveys.
