Kadant GranTek Inc., a subsidiary of Kadant Inc., transforms papermaking sludge into cellulose-based granules that are used as carriers for crop protection, as industrial absorbents, and in premium cat litter. Our primary product brands include Biodac® granular carrier, Gran-sorb® industrial absorbent, and PaPurr® brand cat litter. Our focus on environmentally-friendly processes and products provides a safer, cleaner, and healthier environment.
Kadant GranTek utilizes post-consumer papermaking waste and transforms this waste into valuable products used in industrial and commercial markets. Our focus on environmentally-friendly products and use of post-consumer waste as our source of raw materials means less incineration and landfill waste from industrial processes.
All of our products are manufactured using fibrous sludge waste from select paper mills. By transforming waste into valuable commercial products, we make a positive impact on the environment while providing a safe and user-friendly product.
Our company was founded in 1989 in Green Bay, Wisconsin as Granulation Technology. When Kadant Inc. acquired the company in 2000, the company was renamed Kadant GranTek Inc. The facility in Green Bay includes manufacturing, a pilot plant, packaging and bagging, and warehousing. Finished products are moved by railcar, bulk truck, or in large bulk bags to formulation and customer destinations worldwide.
